DATA MODELER/DATA SCIENTIST
We are looking for a highly skilled Data Modeler/Data Scientist with comprehensive knowledge of both structured and unstructured data.
The ideal candidate should possess core competencies and relevant experience in scripting,statistical analysis, big data tools, and database management.
This role requires a deep understanding of programming languages, statistical analysis tools, and big data technologies to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Management:
Work with both structured and unstructured data to design, develop, and maintain data
models that support business requirements.
Ensure data integrity, quality, and accuracy across all data models.
Scripting and Programming:
Utilize programming languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, Clojure, Matlab, Pig, and SQL
to develop scripts and applications that support data analysis and modeling.
Write efficient and maintainable code to process and analyze large data sets.
Statistical Analysis:
Apply advanced statistical techniques using off-the-shelf tools such as R, SAS, SPSS, and
Weka.
Develop predictive models, conduct hypothesis testing, and perform data mining to
uncover trends and patterns.
Big Data:
Leverage big data tools such as HDFS, Cassandra, and Storm to handle large volumes of
data.
Implement and manage big data solutions to support data-driven decision-making.
Database Knowledge:
Design and maintain structured databases, ensuring optimal performance and
scalability.
Develop and execute complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data for analysis.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and
business stakeholders, to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.
Present findings and insights to non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner.
Hiring Criteria:
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology,
Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
3+ years of proven experience as a Data Modeler or Data Scientist.
Strong knowledge of both structured and unstructured data.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, Clojure, Matlab, Pig,
and SQL.
Advanced usage of statistical analysis tools such as R, SAS, SPSS, and Weka.
Experience with big data tools such as HDFS, Cassandra, and Storm.
Excellent understanding of structured databases and SQL.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to effectively manage complexity and ambiguity.
Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills.
Willing to work on a contractual/project basis.
Wiling to work on a hybrid work set-up.
